Description: Xion is a tall, thin, and fair skinned man with an aura of pain and darkness around him. On the surface he is handsome, polite, and charismatic, but this merely hides the twisted monster that exists inside his soul.
His combat outfit is the same as his casual clothes, as shown to the left. His beast form is shown at the bottom, defying any proper description due to its very unnatural form. Xion is no normal Zoanthrope, and his powers show just that. The best description of his beast form, is that of a praying mantis, though to say it merely is that would be incorrect. From its wrists and ankles blades that can flick out wait to be used, and two spikes on his backs jut out like extra limbs, sharp and double jointed.
History: Zoanthropes are in effect, humans that transform into beasts. No human science has been able to correctly explain why this happens, and there are doubts that an answer will ever be presented. As it stands, humans fear the powers of the the beastmen. First was the controversy over the biological altering of Zoanthropes to create weapons of mass destruction, then an attempt by dissident Zoanthropes to create their own nation... and still humans remember the time of fear that came with 'The Mark of the Beast'.
This strange mark appeared on a select few Beastmen suddenly and without warning. Those afflicted were given tremendous, and somewhat wild amounts of power, that enhanced their abilities and made them unstoppable all over the world. Their random eruptions of fury gave rise to new fear of Zoanthropes, but this wasn't the main concern. Zoanthropes bearing the mark were dying... killed by some unseen force.
A select few Zoanthropes that bore the mark and were still alive set out to understand the meaning behind their powers, and locate the force destroying them. They were Yugo, Alice, Long, Shina, Stun, Shenlong, Busuzima, Jenny, Bakuryu, Uriko, and Gado. for their own reasons and intentions, each set out on a journey to find the killer of their kind.
The killer was Xion.
Xion was, and is, unlike any other Zoanthrope born. Driven mad in his youth by voices taunting in his mind, his only solitude was with his sister, who kept the evil at bay. As Xion grew up though, he came to understand who he was, and why he transformed into such a horrible and destructive creature. He found more solace in transforming into what he was told by the voices was the form of 'The Unborn'.
Xion learned that The Unborn were creatures that existed, but did not exist. They were Zoanthropes only in the way that they and Zoanthropes shared some sort of bond, and they sought to bring themselves out of limbo into the real world, to wipe out all laws... and not just laws as in thou shalt not kill... they could in their release end all love and hate, all war and peace, right and wrong... they would put turn Earth into nothing and everything at the same time, creating one conscious mind out of billions... and Xion was their Messiah... their chosen one.
Xion, having been horrified with the world and the hardships it contained, agreed to their plan to use him as a conduit to destroy and recreate the world. He bided his time, training his skills under the direction of the voices, shunning his sister's company, until the day the marks appeared.
Having learned of Xion's plan, his sister did everything in her power to stop him, and as the voices pressed him on, he killed her in cold blood. He buried her body, and promised that like her, everyone on Earth would no longer feel pain.
And so, Xion marched forth from his country, on his quest not for answers about The Mark of the Beast, but of the 'Tabula of a Thousand Beasts'. For this Tabula was the stone relic required to activate the portal that Xion would use to channel the power through his body and open the portal. As the chosen one of the Unborn, only Xion could control it. But to control it he had to be the only one with The Mark of the Beast left alive. His killing began, till eventually he locked onto the Tabula's immense power.
There was fierce battling between all the powerful Zoanthropes, Xion making his own prescence felt every time he was around, though he never killed any of the other ones they had begun their quest... he merely left them as he searched for the Tabula, the voices guiding him onwards. Soon he felt it would all be over... the voices... the guilt over his sister than nagged at the back of his mind... the weakness would all be gone.
The Zoanthropes all came together at the resting place of the Tabula, as their powers too came to their full strength.
But for all their strength, Xion was too much for them... except for one, as if fated by the heavens.
Long, ex-assassin who himself had killed his own sister a fair time ago, and was seeking redemption. He and Xion fought, and Xion was defeated.
As Xion's mind reeled at the notion of having been defeated, the Unborn power resting inside him took form and left his body, as a dark shadow. Still barely conscious, Xion recognised the energy... his sister.
His sister was the voice in his head all along, the Unborn driving him forward were channelled by her... for their blood was the same. Tainted.
In striking her down, he fulfilled her desires, and released her into his own mind where she held sway and controlled him on his bloody rampage. It seemed as well, that she would use him to open the portal, regardless of his own wishes...
She however hadn't counted on Long, who not only struck down the Unborn energy with his own power, but then contained what he could not destroy in himself. The Tabula itself was destroyed, and the marks on the beastmen disappeared... yet one thing had happened... Xion's power had further awakened.
Left to his own devices, Xion set out to set things right, and help his kind by finding the answer to the Zoanthropes origins, using his own knowledge of the Unborn to his advantage. He took part in another large tournament of the Zoanthropes, and met Long once more. Long noted that his experiments and research were too heavy handed... and that Xion should practice compassion.
Seeking further understanding, Xion travelled once again, till falling across a place that was a very beacon to mysteries, and answers. Anime Island.
Upon arriving he found a suitable establishment to control and operate from, to gather information. As he waited for answers, Xion turned his gaze to the UCTF and saw some fun there... he would follow Long's advice and practice compassion, but he had to remove his malice and anger somehow.
Additional: Xion approaches the ring via ramp, as 'Mein Teil' by Rammstein plays across the speakers, with the lights dimmed low. Xion enters the ring, arms held high and soaking in whatever attention is being thrown his way.
As his description states, Xion is cruel and corrupt, despite his good intentions. His power is intense and his Unborn form only makes him stronger still. His only physical weakness is his inability to throw projectiles... a factor which is offset by some of his moves, and his ability to gather energy about one part of his body to use to attack and defend. Probably his greatest weakness is his inability to comprehend someone being as strong as he is, and often lulls himself into a false sense of security.
Xion's zoanthrope abilities extend beyond mere transformation, as he can encase certain parts of his body in armour to defend against attacks, or sprout the blades from his wrists and ankles without transforming.
Finally, his
clothes are not damaged by his transformation, as the very armour itself goes
over him, an exo-skeleton like an insect, and as extra danger his blades give
him extra reach for his attacks. Xion however will only go Beast Mode for the
most worthy of opponents, as he views his power as something only few warriors
should be privileged to see.
Moves:
Xion's moves are varied, though some can only be pulled off while in his beast form. In each case if otherwise stated, the moves are both beast and human form.
Standard Attacks:
Sublimated Air: A standard jumping uppercut, and although it's a close range air stunning attack in human form, in beast form Xion extends an arm blade and slashes his opponent backwards. Usually a combo-starter as Xion lands quickly and can open up a barrage.
Empress Ring: Xion performs a leaping double kick upwards, launching his opponent up with him. Xion will always land before his opponent will, allowing him to strike them again on the way down. If performed in his Unborn form, the opponent is launched much higher, as is expected with his power increase.
Engage-Crown: Xion pulls his arms back and encases himself with green energy. All attacks to his head and body are absorbed, with only low attacks getting through. The charging takes only a moment before Xion retaliates with a powerful backhand, using the energy to floor his opponent.
Strato-Various: Xion leaps onto his opponent's head with surprising agility, then flips off them, bouncing back down with a heel to the forehead. Most often performed from the top rope onto a standing opponent. Also, when performed in Beast form, Xion delivers a scything downwards kick with his blade, instead of a heel.
Engage-Crest: Xion's answer to projectile attacks. Should he be attacked by any large beam or magic or otherwise mystical projectile, Xion will encase himself in green energy once again and absorb the attack as much as he can, taking small damage from it the longer it takes. Then with a yell he thrusts his hands out and returns the attack right back, weaker than the initial assualt due to the energy that had slipped out. Also, Xion cannot store the move, once its ready and absorbed, out it goes.
Enormous Murder (Beast Mode): Xion steps back, then lunges forward with a strong kick, a blade sticking from his ankle outwards. One to avoid completely, as a grazing hit still causes nasty bleeding.
Canon (Beast Mode): Xion in Unborn form delivers what in any other circumstance would be an upwards backhand around the chest area. However, considering he's in his beast mode, what instead happens is that Xion delivers an upwards slice with his blade that cuts his opponent across the chest, and launches them into the air.
Lunatic Dive: With his opponent lying down, Xion climbs the turnbuckle facing away from his opponent, before performing a twisting moonsault off the top and down, landing chest first on his opponent after several in-flight revolutions.
Combo attacks:
CAIN: Standing standard combo. Xion a forehand chop followed up with a backhand chop by the same hand, both across the chest area. Using the momentum of the backhand Xion spins around and delivers an elbow to the head of his opponent, before continuing to spin into a harsh chop across the neck with the original hand. In the event of Beast Mode, the final blow in CAIN becomes a a final slash downwards.
ABEL: Like CAIN, Xion delivers two chops to the chest area, before spinning. Unlike CAIN however, Xion continues to use the same hand, and goes lower, chopping once against where the leg meets the hip, then another across the side of the knee. This move is a trick version of CAIN, and uses the caution to guard the upper body to take the opponent out from under themselves. In Beast Mode, the last two chops become blade slashes.
Lunatic Spiral: Again, this move starts out like CAIN, only this one ends in simularities after the third hit. After the elbow, instead of going for the last chop, Xion lashes across the midsection with a spinning kick, then with the momentum delivers a hard kick to the knee, causing his opponent to involuntarily jerk it upwards. Then, without placing his foot on the ground Xion kicks his opponent on the same side of the body, in the side. As his opponent doubles over in that direction xion jumps upwards and spins 360 degrees before kicking his opponent in the side of the head hard. As you can imagine, in Beast Mode, this move might as well be a finisher,as all kicks are performed with the blades extended and if done close enough could very fell lops some limbs off.
Guilty Chain: Xion starts this combo by bringing his knee up high to the face of his opponent, then as they fall backwards extending the rest of his leg into a kick to the side of the head. Then, Xion sweeps low with a small kick to one ankle to knock his opponent off guard before jumping up and performing a downward scything kick, then jumping up and doing another, then doing it a third time, before spinning in the air and coming down with a fourth, much harder on the skull. By this point it's pretty clear what happens in Beast Mode, as only the first move is performs without the blades out.
Spiral Babel: With a small two step lunge, Xion kicks his opponent in the side, then kicks them with the same foot across the chin. Hopping and spinning he presses on delivering a stiff kick to a leg, then still spinning kicks the opponent upwards, knocking them off their feet. Then as they rise upwards, Xion follows and performs a spinning kick to the head much like in Lunatic Spiral. When in Beast Mode, every kick is performed with the blades out.
Writhing Demon (Human form combo slightly different to Beast Mode combo): Named after his fighting style, this move varies between human and beast modes. In human form, Xion peforms the first two strikes of CAIN, then cancels into Empress Ring. As his opponent falls he then performs the Lunatic Spiral combo, keeping them up and then spin kicking them into oblivion. Against a weakened foe that counts as his human form finisher. In beast mode, after the opponent falls from the Empress Ring, Xion performs the two strikes that open into Cain again, before performing Empress Ring once more. Then, upon falling once more Xion catches them in the Lunatic Spiral. The reason it is not a finisher in Beast Mode is that anyone getting Xion at his full power is obviously much stronger than this simple 13-hit combination attack (9-Hit in Human Form).
Tyrant (Beast Mode): Xion's favourite Beastorized combo surprisingly doesn't use his blades at all. He instead punches his opponent with a lunging fist, then swings around to the side of the head with his other hand, before bringing the same hand back with a backhanding fist to send his opponent spinning into the air.
Darkness Baron (Beast Mode): Xion lashes out with one foot, blade extended, and kicks his opponent three times across the midsection before spinning and delivering another bladed roundhouse with the other across the face. While the opponent is fixated either recovering from the dodge or bleeding heavily from the face, Xion crouches and then performs a backflipping doublekick, launching his opponent up in the air. This combo alone is deadly, but the kick also sends the victim flying in their closer to Xion, who can then respond, usually with a Lunatic Spiral.
Throws:
Vermilion Tower (Human Form): Xion grabs his opponent by the neck, then snatches them up onto a raised foot on their stomach, before smashing them down into the ground with the force of a kick.
Bloody Throw: Xion jumps his opponent, planting a hand on top of their head in a sort of handstand as his body swings in the air. In mid-air Xion moves himself upright while delivering a hard knee to the back of his opponent's head, sending them face first to the floor.
5Th Requim: With his opponent on their knees, Xion kicks them about the side of their head four times.
Air Throw: Jumping down behind his opponent, Xion grasps their shoulder and spins them, while with his other hand he smacks them in the side with a chop with enough force to send them spinning faster off their feet.
Judgement Crash: Grabbing his opponent by the back of the head, Xion performs a Russian Leg-Sweep.
Lunatic Strength: Setting his opponent and himself up on the turnbuckle, Xion locks his legs up on the ropes and performs a belly-to-belly off the top, sending his opponent to the ground hard. However, with his legs locked in place Xion is able to pull himself back upright, and perform the Lunatic Dive.
Bloody Kingdom (Beast Mode): Xion throws his opponent up, catches them on the spines on his back, then slings then off and to the floor hard. The spikes on his back impale depending on where they fall. Anyone lucky enough to not hit a spike still ends up smashing against the rock-hard armour on Xion's back.
Submissions:
(Note: All of Xion's submissions are human form only. He considers these just another way of punishing the weak)
Rapture: This move is a standard Wakigatame/Fujiwara Armbar, which coupled with Xion's strength makes it painful. Xion is not opposed to simply pulling an arm from its socket using this move either.
Passing To Heaven Hold: Xion grasps his opponent by the throat, regardless of whether they are standing or on their back, in a choke hold. He drives his thumb into his opponent's windpipe, forcing them to submit or pass out. When standing, he is not opposed to simply lifing his opponent up off of their feet, adding further strain.
Agony Arch: With his opponent lying on their back, Xion grasps a leg and performs an inverted STF.
Finishers:
Engage Chokeslam (Human form): Powering himself up once more, Xion performs this move as a counter to any body and head strikes, lunging through and grasping his opponent by the throat with two hands. With a roar Xion performs a two-handed chokeslam. Upon contact with the ground, Xion releases the built up energy in an explosion. This attack can be broken out of before the slam stage, but once the ground and the opponent connect, the explosion goes off. If avoided, the energy disperses harmlessly, though Xion is left vulnerable for a moment.
Outbreak (Beast Mode): Xion slashes his opponent seven times about the body with blurry moves, hard for the eyes to follow but knocking them around and even bouncing them off the ground as he goes. The seventh slash launches the opponent up into the air, Xion following them high up into the air as he powers a black energy ball around his foot (at this point he will have transformed back to human mode). With a cruel laugh, Xion delivers a devestating kick to the head and slams his opponent back down towards the ground at high speeds, where they smash into the ground.
Heavenly Ascension (Beast Mode): Tapping his latent beast power helped Xion learn this move, and he now uses its impressive and destructive power to his advantage. To start the move Xion slashes across his opponent's chest to knock them off balance, and then with the same arm uppercuts them into the sky so they fly up over Xion's head. As the opponent goes up, Xion puts his feet together and stretches his arms out wide, his entire body becoming engulfed in pure white energy. This energy takes the form of a cross as Xion becomes swallowed by it, and so powerful is its energy that the opponent will be burned and struck repeatedly before being thrown back into the air again. As the energy attack dies down the light fades, and Xion is revealed to be in human form.
13th Volume Offering to the Void (Beast mode PPV Finisher): Despite the bizarre name, this is Xion's strongest finisher ever. To kick out of this is to kick out with your internal organs hanging out, as Xion saves this move for one-in-a-million moments. The attack starts with Xion performing a super-powerful uppercut, launching his opponent sky high. When they come down, the come down on the two spike-limbs on Xion's back, which then proceed to repeatedly stab in and out of the victim's body repeatedly, before throwing them back up again. As they fall for the second time, Xion spins and then performs a powerful double-slash, knocking the victim across the ring in a bloody heap. Such is the power in the final slash, Xion actually changes from Beast to Human form, and takes time to recover. Though obviously with this move that isn't a problem.
UCTF History: Xion's first appearance in the UCTF came on October the 23rd 2002 at the ECW Arena, when Hystalin DeWarrloc came out to fight NNNN. However, her entrance music had been changed to that of The Golden Girlstheme song, and only for the briefest moment did he appear, and Hystalin herself had no idea who had messed with her.
Of course, it didn't take long for Xion to reveal himself, and fired up the arena with anti-DeWarrloc sentiment. Hystalin herself came out, believing Xion to have been the messenger boy of Jann Lee, and such was Hystalin's own ignorance on the matter that JEICE of all UCTFers came out and delivered such a verbal thrashing that Hystalin was left dumbfounded in the ring, and everyone else just left.
A short Halloween appearance was all that was seen of Xion for a month, till December the 7th 2002, when Lo-Ruhamah the UCTF World Champion of nine months (undefeated through countless attempts to dethrone him) issued an open challenge to all UCTF fighters out the back for a one-on-one battle for the title. It was then, musicless and to the surprise of the crowd that Xion the Unborn walked out, and after a match that Lo very nearly broke Xion's skull the Unborn Zoanthrope delivered an intense Engage Chokeslam onto a set of stairs and then pinned Lo to become the new World Title Champion.
The next week time Xion appeared was on Saturday Massacre on December the 16th, where the silver haired devil faced the Crossover Mage Kunoi Ishigami ffor the World Title. Xion proved himself on par with the man who the week earlier came out on top of a hellacious triple threat match, and some say he still wasn't 100% for the fight against Xion. Nevertheless Kunoi and Xion staged quite the fight, and Kunoi was only beaten when Xion transformed to his Unborn form and hit his Outbreak finisher to KO the Japanese Wrestler. Xion retained for another week, on a quest to prove his title win was no fluke.
But no fighter settles for being merely a title holder if they are not THE title holder, the Grand Champion. The then champ Rott had retired and the belt was once more left vacant. The UCTF President Vegeta set up a sign up form for those who desired to take part in an elimination Tournament to see who would become UCTF Grand Champion. Jann Lee and Xion agreed that only one of them should fight, and flipped a coin. Xion won the toss and signed up. The others who signed up were SSS, Shriana Windbringer, Kunoi Ishigami, William Clarke, Chipp Zanuff, Ailura DeWarrloc, Countdown, NNNN, Raven Darc, Dan Hibiki, Ethan Rice, Yugo Ogami, Taki, Nathaniel Wystan, and Mercy Marks.
The first round of entrants combating each other was to be held on a show called "Ultimate Massacre" where the fighters competed in matches with a gimmick decided by the Prez. Not knowing what his match was to be, Xion only knew who his opponent was to be... Ailura DeWarrloc! And more to the point his title was on the line! The Unborn Zoanthrope cut a scathing promo, and made sure to let everyone know his plans were not merely to win (and retain) but to put Ailura's career to rest.
Much to Xion's own surprise, his words were put to the test, as he and Ailura fought in a 'Pink Slip on a Pole' match. Much to Ailura's chagrin, every step of the way Xion was verbally and physically dogging her moves. In the end, after she had given her all, Xion burst forth into his Unborn form, and defeated her with the very pole they were supposed to get the briefcase off of.
Xion had won and retained not only his title, but his job. Xion advanced to the next round of the Grand Title Tournament, eagerly awaiting the next challenge.
That challenge was in the form of SSS in a match with the ring littered with glass plates. Xion's healing ability and an interference assist played a small part in Xion's victory and his further advancement into the Semi finals.
Unfortunately, due to an attack with a weed whacker Xion was replaced in the Grand Title Championship Semis. He disappeared for a long time and was thought to be gone.
No one gets off that easy, and Xion has returned without a reasonable explanation for his absence, but still carrying a quizzical but meaningful announcement...
Then, to solidify his return Xion entered the Only the Strong tournament and in his return match defeated Natalie Wystan (formerly Nathaniel Wystan) and Ethan Rice in a triple threat match to qualify for the main event. His opponents qualified likewise, and Andre Tau, Xion's old rival Yugo, and an unheard of Zoanthrope named Zyrus qualified as his opponents.
In a tag match the following week, Zyrus and Xion were to face Yugo and Andre Tau. Due to an attack before the match, Andre was not only out of the match, but seemingly out of the running for the Strong Man title. In the ensuing handicap match Xion pinned Yugo, but only after Zyrus' assistance. Xion showed his gratitude by laying out Zyrus.
The Strong Man 2003 match took place at Cyberslam V as a triple threat between Yugo, Zyrus and Xion after a promo in which Zyrus successfully laid out his two challengers. It was literally a monster brawl that saw Xion impaled through the stomach by Zyrus and Yugo meeting the business end of the UCTF's first viewing of Xion's "13th Volume Offering to the Void" finisher. In the end, Xion stood bleeding and triumphant after a last man standing-esque count and became the Strong Man of 2003 and a two-time World Champion to boot. Soaked in his own blood Xion smiled... but it wouldn't be till the end of the show that this smile's reason was fully explained.
At the end of the main event of Cyberslam V, William Clarke defeated Shawn Shane Shields by submission to retain his Platinum Grand Championship Title, and immediately after the match ended the competitors were accosted and beaten down by two debuting fighters, and Xion arrived and assisted in the beatdown itself, instructing the other two. William Clarke took a hit from a sickening charge that was meant for SSS and was hospitalized as a result. Satisfied the three fighters left the ring in celebration.
Not long after Cyberslam the three reappeared, and Xion practically announced that HE was the number one contender for the Platinum title, having explained his plans of removing all other obstacles. He then introduced his teammates, Stun and Zappa, and together they became The Trio, with plans on becoming one of the greatest stables in UCTF's more recent history.
The following Saturday Massacre, an angry Shawn Shane Shields came to the ring, calling out The Trio for what they had done to William and also for dismissing the previous number one contender. The Trio answered and although SSS put up a brave fight, the numbers game caught up with him rapidly, and he received a beating that ended up helping along SSS's loss of his Swordsmaster Title later in the night.
The Saturday Massacre after that saw The Trio take to the ring again, with Xion trying to explain himself when he declared that he would "save" William Clarke. Before he could finish however, the Grand Champion showed up to try and prove he didn't need saving. Before any real fighting could break out, Vegeta made a tag team title match that saw William Clarke and Triple S reunite. Despite this, the two lost against Stun and Zappa, who became the new Tag Team Champions. After the show however, when Raven Darc had helped stave off another beatdown attempt by the Trio on William and Shawn, the Grand and World Champions clashed, fighting all over the building until finally falling exhausted from a scaffolding and caving in the roof of the President's car. As a result The Trio and William were suspended.
But now, that suspension has ended...
